Matterpeeps: Meet Orlando

Orlando describes himself as ‘half city-mouse and half country-mouse.’ So on any given day, he can be found walking a trail or tinkering away on a project in his apartment. Whatever environment it is, he will find inspiration to use on any number of his creative hobbies — whether it’s crafting furniture by hand, sewing clothing, or developing his own fragrances.

Dreaming of new ideas is ingrained in Orlando. As a child, he grew up in Southern California and spent his early school years learning English as a second language where he relied on his connection to art to communicate and express himself. Through art and design classes, Orlando realized his passion for art could have a real-world application — transforming everyday products through design.

Orlando brings that same enthusiasm and artistic lens to Matterport. His awareness of design’s potential to make positive impacts drives his curiosity to explore solutions.

The acceleration of Matterport’s technology and tools excites Orlando and provides him the freedom to explore virtual solutions. In his role, Orlando has been instrumental in growing the team of designers and continues to champion the design team to always think like the end-user.
